Wellington HELP is a not-for-profit organisation providing 24/7 support to individuals, whānau and communities affected by sexual violence across Wellington City, Porirua and Kāpiti.

Their mission is to provide free, specialist, trauma-informed services to survivors of sexual abuse, while promoting prevention, education, and community awareness. Wellington HELP is grounded in empathy, empowerment, and accessibility - ensuring every person who reaches out is met with care and support.

The organisation’s ambition was to create a website that reflected this mission: safe, compassionate, and empowering - a place where survivors and supporters alike could easily find information, access services, and understand the impact of their contributions.

We designed and built Wellington HELP’s new website to:

• Create a safe, accessible digital space that meets WCAG AA standards and prioritises user wellbeing - including trauma-informed design, clear language, and a visible “quick exit” feature.
• Empower survivors and supporters by clearly communicating the pathways to support and highlighting Wellington HELP’s range of services.
• Strengthen fundraising outcomes by improving the donation experience and visibility, optimising journeys for one-off and recurring donors.
• Reflect Wellington HELP’s compassionate and community-driven brand, using inclusive design, uplifting visuals, and an authentic tone of voice.
• Support the Wellington HELP team’s long-term goals with a flexible, future-proof CMS that enables rapid updates, content creation, and ongoing optimisation.

The new Wellington HELP website embodies the organisation’s values in digital form - safe, inclusive, empowering, and hopeful.

It balances the sensitivity of Wellington HELP’s work with a message of strength and connection, creating a trusted space where people can seek support, contribute to change, and learn more about the impact of sexual violence in their community.

By improving accessibility, unifying information, and streamlining the donation experience, the new website enables Wellington HELP to continue its vital mission: ensuring every survivor in the region can access the help they need, when they need it.
